l  To understand optimal dispatch of generation with and without losses.

l  To study the optimal scheduling of hydro thermal systems.

l  To study the optimal unit commitment problem.

l  To study the load frequency control for single area system

l  To study the PID controllers for single area system and two area system.

l  To understand the reactive power control and compensation of transmission lines.
